What is CheaterMap?

The first anonymous, collaborative map of infidelity reports worldwide.

Some things happen everywhere, all the time — but nobody talks about them out loud. CheaterMap was built on a simple idea: give people a place to anonymously mark that somewhere, in some city, someone is being unfaithful. No names. No photos. No judgement. Just data points on a map.

Infidelity is one of those topics everyone encounters but few discuss openly. Studies suggest that between 20% and 40% of people in committed relationships have been unfaithful at some point. Yet solid, geographic data about where it happens, when, and by whom remains nearly impossible to find. CheaterMap is an attempt to fill that gap.

Every pin you see on the map represents a real user report: someone who noticed something, suspected something, or simply wanted to leave a trace. The origin city and destination are the only geographic data we store. The rest is silence — but that collective silence is starting to paint a picture.

What began as a social experiment has grown into a surprisingly revealing source of behavioral data. As you read this, something may have just been reported in your city.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about how CheaterMap works.

Yes. CheaterMap requires no personal data whatsoever — no account, no email, no phone number. The only data we store is the gender of the person being reported, the city of origin, and the destination. It is impossible to identify anyone through a report.
No. The CheaterMap form does not allow names, photos, social profiles, or any identifying information. The platform is designed to surface statistical patterns, not to target individuals. Any attempt to dox or harass someone falls outside the scope of this platform.
CheaterMap is a collaborative, anonymous data platform. Individual reports are not verified, but the statistical aggregation of thousands of data points reveals meaningful behavioral patterns. We present the data as trends, not as proven facts about specific individuals.
The map updates in real time. Every new report submitted by a user appears on the map and in the live activity feed within seconds. We also use an automatic refresh system to keep the map active at all times.
No. Because reports are fully anonymous and not linked to any registered user, there is no way to authenticate that the person requesting deletion is the one who submitted it. This policy reinforces the statistical and anonymous nature of the platform.
Only cities with at least one registered report appear on the map. If your city has no pins, it means no activity has been reported from there yet. That can change at any moment.

Why do men cheat more? What science says
CheaterMap's data confirms what evolutionary psychology has studied for decades: men make up the majority of reported cheaters. But the reasons are more nuanced than they first appear — and the gender gap is narrowing.
